The bowling green at Ellesmere in north Shropshire stands on the ancient motte & bailey castle site high above this ancient market town. The view from it is a full 360 degrees across the beautiful countryside of the Welsh Marches, the Cheshire Plain, North Staffordshire and, the local North Shropshire, “Mini Lake District.”
Our Club celebrated it’s 150th anniversary year in 2004 and we cater for all ages and abilities, with a full programme of League, Competition, and social bowling.
Ellesmere Bowling Club has two bowling greens situated at the top of Church Hill in Ellesmere, Shropshire. The club has a number of teams and competes in the Whitchurch and District Bowls League, The Oswestry and District Bowls League, The Barlows Over Sixty Bowls League and the Wrexham and District Bowls League.
New members are always welcome.
