It is believed the bowling green has been in existence since the eighteenth century, with the present original part of the club house dating from early Victorian times.
The earliest surviving available minutes for a club meeting are dated 1898. It has always been run by an elected committee headed not by a chairman, but by “The Mayor of the green.” The second green was opened in 1989.
According to the club minutes all the inter club matches were “friendlies” up until the entering of a team in the Whitchurch League.
WE KNOW THAT THE PICTURE WAS USED
